To update your mobile number in Aadhaar, you can follow these steps:
Visit the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) at https://uidai.gov.in/.
Under the "My Aadhaar" section, click on "Update Your Aadhaar."You will be redirected to the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal.
On the portal, click on "Proceed to Update Aadhaar."
Enter your Aadhaar number and the Captcha code provided on the page, and click on "Send OTP" or
"Enter TOTP" depending on your preference.
An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number or email address. If you
do not have access to the registered mobile number, you can use the TOTP (Time-Based One-Time
Password) option generated through the mAadhaar mobile app.
Enter the OTP or TOTP and click on "Login."
On the next page, select the data field you want to update, which is the mobile number in this case.
Fill in the new mobile number that you want to update and click on "Submit."
You will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) on the screen. Note it down for future reference.
Next, you will need to upload the supporting documents to verify the new mobile number. These
documents may include your photo ID proof, address proof, and a self-attested copy of the document
containing the new mobile number.
After uploading the documents, click on "Submit."
You will receive an acknowledgment slip with an Update Request Number (URN). Keep this URN safe
for tracking the status of your update request.
Your update request will be verified by UIDAI, and once it is approved, you will receive a confirmation message on your new mobile number.
The updated mobile number will be linked to your Aadhaar card, and you can use it for various Aadhaar-related services.
Please note that it may take some time for the update process to be completed, and you should keep your old mobile number active until the new number is successfully updated in your Aadhaar details.
